Presenter bio: Mohammed O. Assayony received
the MS degree in computer science from the Universiti Sains Malaysia in
2009 and he is currently pursuing his PhD in computer science and
engineering at. His research interests include Arabic Document Analysis
and Recognition, Automatic Feature Learning for Arabic handwriting as
well as parallel algorithms for scientific applications.

Presenter bio: Dr. Abdelrahman Abdelazim is an
assistant professor of Computer Engineering and academic activities and
projects coordinator at the American University of the Middle East

and a PhD degree in Engineering, both from the University of Central
Lancashire (UCLAN), Preston, UK. Between 2008 and 2012 he worked as
Lecturer in Electronics within the School of Computing, Engineering and
Physical Sciences (CEPS). He previously worked at Blackpool College and
Lancashire Business School. His previous experience includes leading the
implementation of a number of academic and industrial digital
communication projects. His research interests are in the area of
reducing the complexity of Video Coding Encoders in real-time Scalable
and Multi-view applications and the area of teaching and learning in
higher education. He has published several conference and journal papers
in the subject of video compression and transmission.

Dr. Abdelazim has completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in teaching and
learning in Higher Education. He is a chartered engineer and a Fellow of
the Higher Education Academy. He is also a member of the IET, SPIE and
IEEE.

Presenter bio: Dr El-Nakla is an Assistant
Professor of Electrical Engineering at PMU and is involved with all

university students. Dr El-Nakla earned his PhD in Intelligent
Electronic design within mechatronics from the University of Abertay
Dundee, United Kingdom in 2004. His PhD research work dealt with
defining and developing a decomposed mechatronic system into its
different system components using functional decomposition and top down
approach. This led to the development and implementation of a computer
based system at lower level and which is used to assist in the design of
electronic systems, which themselves form a part of a larger or
meachtronic system.
Dr El-Nakla has some years of teaching experience in the UK and Arab
world Universities. Also worked in project at RD of NCR Corporation in
Scotland on testing and evaluating the transflective LCD for sunlight
readable display of the autoteller machine (ATM). He has some
publications in these Areas of research.

Kuwait Competition, and the First Maker Faire Kuwait. Dr. Seyed holds
two US and European patents and is also the co-inventor of a US patent.
Both inventions won silver medals at the First Maker Faire in Kuwait. He

high-speed low-power digital circuit design, clock distribution

professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the United Arab
Emirates University (UAEU). He has been the Director of the Continuing
Education Center – UAEU – since September 2015 and Assistant Dean for
Student Affairs at the College of Engineering (COE) since September
2013. He was the Head of Industrial Training and Graduation Projects
Unit in the COE from May 2005 until August 2011. He acquired his BSc in
Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona, USA in May 1989. He
worked for DUBAL for about six months and then he joined the UAEU as a
Teaching Assistant in 1990. He obtained his MEng. degree from Cornell
University, USA in May 1993 and his PhD. in Computer Engineering in May
2001 from USC, USA. More recently, he has published in the Journal of
the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing in 2012 and in the 15th
International Conference on Climbing and Walking Robots (CLAWAR), Johns
Hopkins University, Maryland, USA, July 2012. He has another related
publication titled “Worm Robot with Dynamic Adaptation to Pipe Diameter
for In-Pipe Inspection” that was published in the International Journal
of Engineering and Innovative Technology, 2015. US Patent Office Patent
Application No: 14695713; 24 April, 2015 is pending submitted by: R.
Ramzan, A. Beg and N. Bastaki, “Temperature Monitoring of Subject Bodies
using Wireless Energy Transfer”. Currently, he is supervising one PhD
student. He also received Sheikh Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence
in 1993 and in 2001. He was a board member of Emirates Science club and
is an IEEE member from 2003 to 2015. He was a referee in the 3rd to 10th
IEEE student competitions from 2008 to 2015 and in Sheikha Latifa Bint
Mohamed Award for Child Creativity during 2003 – 2015.

Presenter bio: Ashraf A. Zaher received both
